The trout eggs arrived at OFRS this morning! The 5th grade students "welcomed" them to their new home and the 5th grade science teachers are excited to start the unit - Trout in the Classroom.

Today is SUPERHERO day! What does it mean to be a superhero? To be kind to others, believe in yourself, work to solve problems, be helpful to others, and show support to those who need it. 🦸🏽🦸🏻♀️
We are filling up our tank with water from local streams and rivers. Our trout will love all of this healthy bacteria that will replicate that natural environment. 🐟

Fourth grade students were so excited to launch their rockets. They experimented by adjusting variables in order to get the highest launch! Science is FUN!
Kindergareten students were excited to harvest the potatoes planted by last year's kindergarten students in the outdoor classroom. They also began their science unit on Trees and Weather with nature walks using their senses to observe and record their data about tree parts.
Third grade students invented "Bobbly Droppers". In the activity, students try to save a falling bobby pin from a crash landing by inventing a device to slow the fall. They work like inventors, learning that failures are part of the invention process!
