For the final day of Read Across America Week our students got to watch The Lorax and design and decorate their own Truffula Trees with positive messages on them! Students in PK-5 classrooms wrote their own "I Speak For..." messages on their trees and we will be hanging them up around the school!
Even though we are wrapping up Read Across America Week here at OFRS, we have instilled a love of literacy into our students' hearts and will continue to incorporate DEAR time, buddy reading periods, and full-schoolwide reading initiatives for the remainder of this school year. Thank you so much to the teachers and staff for taking the time out of their already busy days to incorporate these activities this week!
Our OFRS students celebrated Read Across America Week today with a school-wide buddy read! All of our classes paired up and read to each other in our new library space. A big shoutout to our older students assisting our younger students during their reading today!

🎉 Fifth graders from across the district came together today for a fun-filled picnic! 🧺 Games, laughter, and new friendships were all around as students got to know each other before middle school! 🤝💬

Three 5th grade Girl Scouts led a fantastic action project on bus safety! 🚍👏 They created a slideshow and visited K–2 classes to share important safety tips. Way to lead with purpose and heart! 💛💙
