8th grade Reading students were challenged to adopt life changing attitudes as they studied their whole class novel, “The Traveler’s Gift" by Andy Andrews. Throughout the novel, students had the opportunity to learn about many heroic figures like Anne Frank. Students then used Virtual Reality to experience a tour of Anne Frank's Annex. A special thanks to the LVMS PTA for sponsoring a teacher grant to purchase a class set of "The Traveler's Gift"!

In 8th Grade Social Studies classes, students engaged in a simulation activity during their study of different types of governments. Students were given the task to build the tallest, strongest and most attractive free standing building following the directions of the assigned government type such as a Republic, a Democracy, a Dictatorship or a Monarchy.

Members of the National Junior Honor Society had a GREAT time visiting FKS, BAC, and OFRS to celebrate Read Across America Week. Middle schoolers look forward to picking some of their favorites titles to read to our younger students each year.
