LVMS will be closed Thursday 11/7 and Friday 11/8 for Teachers Convention. Schools will reopen on Monday, 11/11 for a regular day. We hope everyone has a great long weekend!

On Halloween, Mrs. Condron's 6th graders gathered around a classroom campfire and shared their spooky story endings by flashlight to culminate their study of the narrative writing craft.
Do you have leftover Halloween Candy? LVMS will be working with OFRS to collect leftover Halloween Candy that will be donated to the Bernardsville chapter of the veterans (VFW Post 7858). All candy that is collected will be taken to the VA Hospital or mailed to Military Bases for members of our armed forces. All candy donations can be brought to homerooms and are by Monday, November 11th!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week which will also be a spirit week! Red Ribbon Week is an annual campaign held in the United States to raise awareness about drug prevention and encourage youth to live drug-free lives.
Next week is Penny Wars, sponsored by the LVMS PTA, during all lunch periods. By the entrance to the MPR (S. Gym / Cafeteria) each House has its own collection jar. The goal is to have the most points for your house to win Spirit Points. All coins are worth awarded points in your house jar. Any bills are subtracted points. Good Luck to all homerooms!

Friday, October 25th is the 7th and 8th Grade Halloween Dance at LVMS! Tickets will be on sale during all lunch periods and also sold at the door. There will be a DJ and snacks provided.
School appropriate costumes are encouraged.
Don't forget to join Mr. Ippolito and Mr. Mirabella at LVMS on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 PM for "Panther Chats" for a chance to get to know the LVMS Administrators, discuss various topics about the school, give feedback, provide input, and ask questions.
Another SUCCESSFUL Pink Out at LVMS! Thank you to all students and staff for a a great spirit day. We are happy to share that the Student Council raised over $400 to be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer.
Thursday, October 17th will be the LVMS annual Pink Out Spirit Day! All students and staff are encouraged to where pink. During lunch periods this week, the LVMS Student Council will be selling Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets for $1 and pink bandanas for $2. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Week of Respect is held annually in New Jersey during the first week of October and is set to focus on ways to prevent, identify, and report bullying and cyber-bullying and improve the school environment to promote positive relationships among students. At LVMS next week starting on 10/7 we have spirit events planned as well as a schoolwide activity that will promote respect and anti-bullying.
Monday, 10/7 - Wear School Colors: “While we are all different, we come together as a school community.”
Friday, 10/11 - Wear BLUE as the official color of World Day of Bullying Prevention
Mrs. Garofalo's 6th grade scientists observed their lab partner Skelly-Ellie and provided evidence as to whether or not she was practicing good lab safety skills.
