In honor of National Poetry Month, Ms. Lee and House 8-3 students wrote poems inspired by the word "community". Inspired by community quilts that have each square created by someone in the community, students volunteered to share their quick-write poems (crafted under 10 minutes) by creating a square for our classroom poetry community quilt. Some students took a free verse approach while others used a more structured approach, such as a haiku.

Grade 5 students were able to successfully release 22 trout back into the wild today! They then classified insects from around the area to determine the level of pollution in the water. It's been fun watching them care for the trout since October. 🐟🐠💦
