
First Graders at OFRS are measuring with paper clips. They discover how to use objects and nonstandard units to measure distances and make conclusions about why it’s important to use objects of the same size and shape when measuring. We love to see our mathematicians hard at work! 📏🖇📎





OFRS partners with the Washington Twp. Police to collect new and unwrapped gifts to donate to Toys for Tots. Our student leaders help us to organize and prepare the donation. We are proud to announce we are beginning to fill up box number two! 🧸🪀🧒👶🏾

The PTO hosted our Annual Holiday Boutique. Students discovered the joy of of giving to others. Thank you to all of the volunteers who made it such a festive and fun experience! 🎁

A parent mystery reader spends time reading to a fifth grade class today. We love inviting volunteers into our classrooms to share experiences with students.



Second Graders demonstrate 5-star listening position during Morning Meeting. Our daily morning meetings strengthen relationship and communication skills and set students up for success in social scenarios and academics. What a wonderful way to start each day!

The tradition continues! VFW Post 7858 visited to pick up Candy Donations made from all three elementary schools. These donations will go to patients at the Lyons VA Medial Center in Basking Ridge, NJ. OFRS Fifth Grade Leaders helped to pack up the candy donations and thank the Veterans for their service. Thank you to the generous children and families of our Washington Twp. community.

We are preparing for tomorrow's Veterans Flag Raising Ceremony!
All families are invited. This special event will take place at 9:15am on November 3rd at the flagpole in the front of the building. Post “1776” American Veterans Association of Washington Twp. will join us to be recognized and honored for their service. If you have a Veteran in your family, be sure to invite them to join us!


More Halloween Festivities!!!





Our OFRS PTO and Room Parents planned the most fabulous Halloween Parties today! Webs, mummies, freeze dance, painting pumpkins and more - such fun!!!





The PTO treated our students to a Recess Dancy Party as a schoolwide prize for reaching our Color Run Fundraising Goal. Students dressed colorfully and danced the day away!

We are getting so excited for Halloween on Monday at OFRS! We can't wait. See you at the parade!


The Fairmount Fire Company visited with Kindergarten and First Grade Students at OFRS today to discuss fire safety. We learned about the importance of fire escape plans, practicing at home and school, and leaving the house right away. Children got to see and hear about the tools, gear and even inside of the truck!





Third grade students observe and compare characteristics of seeds and fruit. They discuss how seeds are alike and different.




The highly engaging and entertaining LEAD U group put on a terrific performance that focused on the importance of thinking for ourselves, handling conflict, recognizing our feelings, and learning how to regulate strong emotions. There was dancing, games, teacher performances, student performances, an actress dressed as a banana and lots of laughter and smiles!
