FKS - October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month and purple is the color used to represent Rett, but it is also used to bring awareness to a number of other diseases, disabilities, and causes, including lupus and epilepsy. Rett Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that affects how a person moves, speaks, and uses their hands. Some people with Rett Syndrome, like a student here at our school, may not be able to communicate using words, but they still have thoughts, feelings, and so much to share with the world. Tuesday, 10/27 we are wearing purple to show our support, spread awareness, and remind everyone that we are all unique in our own ways. We can make our school a better place by being kind, including everyone, and celebrating what makes each of us special. Thank you for wearing purple and helping us spread awareness for Rett Syndrome!
