
Good Evening, Parents, Staff and Students of the Washington Township School District;
Due to the impending weather conditions, District Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. In addition, tomorrow evening's Board of Education Meeting is also canceled. The meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday, February 20th.

Thursday, February 8 was the 100th Day of School! Second-grade students celebrated with 100 minutes of centers, rotating through fun activities in the four second-grade homerooms. Mrs. Mackenzie and Mrs. Bissell presented the "100 Cup Stacking Challenge." Mrs. Molkenthin presented "What Can You Do in 100 Seconds?" Mrs. Plumno presented "100th Day Crowns." Mrs. Ruppert presented "100 Transformation."








Third-grade students have been hard at work this week in their many hands-on math stations. Highlights have included learning about fractions, practicing multiplication facts, and determining area. Way to go Third Grade!!







The students in Mr. Perkalis' kindergarten class had a fun time playing "Spill the Beans," a game focusing on learning ways to make 10. The children dumped 10 pretend beans out of their cups and then recorded how many turned up red and how many turned up white. Great work!






1st Grade Explores Sphero Indi Robotic Cars- In their first lesson, students needed to plan and draw a path to drive Indi in a straight line. In their second lesson, students add additional tiles to drive Indi in a square around their classmate.




5th Grade Ambassadors do so many wonderful things to support the Cucinella community! From holding doors at morning arrival to leading whole school meetings, they exemplify Cucinella's core values of respect, optimism, curiosity, and kindness. They are leaders that the younger students look up to. The ambassadors featured here record weekly morning announcements shown to the whole school on Fridays. Keep up your great work, ambassadors!






Cucinella students enjoyed The Illusion Maker assembly on Wednesday! The students watched and tried their best to figure things out in this magical environmental quiz show.



Mrs. P and Ms. D's 4th-grade class completed a fun activity after reading the Lenni Lenape legend The Rainbow Crow. The students made inferences to identify the Rainbow Crow's character traits, and then they used rainbow scratch paper to cut out and decorate their crows.






Due to the forecasted snow storm for tomorrow, and out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safe travel of our students and staff, we will run an early dismissal schedule tomorrow, Friday, January 19th. As a reminder, all schedules can be found on our school and district websites.

Due to the forecast of freezing road conditions this evening and out of an abundance of caution, Washington Township Schools will have a delayed opening tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 to ensure roads are safe for travel.

Due to dangerous road conditions which are not likely to improve quickly, Washington Township Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Due to the weather conditions expected overnight, district schools will operate on a 2 hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

REMINDER: District Schools will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Teacher Professional Development.


Due to significant road closures, concern about increased flooding during the day, and out of an abundance of caution Washington Township Schools will be closed today, Wednesday, January 10th.

Due to the flooding expected overnight, district schools will operate on a 2 hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Due to the heavy rain and flooding expected in our area, all afterschool and evening activities, including aftercare will be canceled for today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Thanks to the Cucinella PTO for sponsoring another fantastic event for the students! Students participated in The Brain Show assembly on Friday, working in teams to answer fun trivia questions.





First-grade students explored coding with Mr. Dauchert! Mr. Dauchert visited all of the first-grade classes this week and engaged the students in his Sphero Indi lesson. The students drew routes and coded how they wanted their Indi cars to drive.
