LVMS Conferences

Please see the include letter from Mr. Ippolito about LVMS Parent Teacher Conferences

Dear LVMS Parents & Guardians:

As our first grading quarter comes to a close, I wanted to reach out to ‘set the stage’ for parent-conference time here at LVMS.  Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled for the wtschools beginning on November 7 and concluding on November 14.

That said, I know that some of our professionals have already begun to meet with parents about the experiences of our LVMS students.  One of the unique things about LVMS is that there is a year-round opportunity to meet and conference.  Our teaching teams often invite parents to meet regardless of whether the district calendar suggests ‘it’s time to do so.’ Likewise, we invite our LVMS parents to reach out to their child’s teachers and/or school counselors whenever they’d like to talk about their child’s progress and program.  The needs of our adolescent learners aren’t always predictable and, as adolescents are wont to do, those needs often disregard conference dates defined by a calendar.  Our model allows us to convene whenever it is appropriate to do so to support students.

Recognizing that your child’s teachers may see as many as 100 students (or more) throughout the day, it simply isn’t possible to meet with each of our families during the prescribed “conference dates”  Our teaching teams will begin reaching out to parents soon (if they haven't already) to invite some for conferences.  Given the brevity of these conference times, coupled with the limited days available, our LVMS professionals strive to prioritize these conferences based on the needs of our students.  We know that many of our LVMS students are already meeting standards, demonstrating their resilience and growth, and building strong work habits.  Whereas others might benefit from this opportunity for parent(s)/guardian(s) and the school to collaborate more closely and in a focused manner.

Please know that if your child’s teachers do not reach out to schedule a conference at this time, it is our hope you’ll take this opportunity to celebrate your child’s year and successes so far!  Of course, if there are matters you are hoping to share with your child’s teachers, please be sure to reach out and they are happy to schedule an opportunity to meet.

By and large, I couldn’t be more pleased with the way our students have kicked off the first quarter of the 2022-2023 school year!!

Great things are happening at LVMS!

Enjoy the weekend and, as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks so much!
