Flocktown-Kossmann School has an enrollment of approximately 600 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Committed to providing a child-centered learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students, our school is recognized for high academic standards, a warm and nurturing learning environment, and sensitivity to individual needs. Kossmann School is a Star School, a designation conferred by the NJ Department of Education in 2003.

The educational program at Flocktown-Kossmann School includes integrated language arts/reading, mathematics, social studies, and science aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Efforts are continually made to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students. A variety of programs, such as Gifted and Talented, Academic Assistance, Counseling, Speech and Language, and Special Education are provided to support and supplement student learning.

Flocktown-Kossmann School is a "Community of 21st Century Learners" where teachers, as well as students, are encouraged to enhance their learning. Many of our staff members have advanced degrees and continue to take graduate courses. Throughout the year, they attend a variety of seminars and workshops to enhance their professional knowledge and expertise about teaching and learning. These professional development opportunities enable our staff to provide quality educational programs and to improve student academic achievement consistent with current educational research and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.

At Flocktown-Kossmann School, we recognize the importance of effective home-school communication and the active involvement of our parents. Parent volunteers participate in a variety of school-sponsored programs and work closely with the teachers to assist the children with numerous classroom activities and projects. In addition, our PTA provides many cultural arts presentations and enrichment activities that are coordinated with our educational programs.
