STATEMENT OF MEETING NOTICE

Adequate notice of this meeting was given to the public 48 hours in advance of the date setting forth the date, time, location and type of meeting.  Notice was published on May 7, 2008 in the Daily Record, one of the Board's official newspapers.  The notice was also sent to the Observer Tribune and was posted with the Washington Township Clerk, the Washington Township Municipal Building bulletin board, the Washington Township Schools, and the administration building.  All please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

IT IS HEREBY MOVED, UPON RECOMMENDATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT, THAT THE BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVE THE FOLLOWING:

 

Education

 

1.      Motion to approve Dawn Sansevere, originally approved to complete Student Practicum at the Flocktown-Kossmann School, will complete practicum at the Cucinella School with Deanna Van Houten as the cooperating teacher and Mr. John Sandri as her college advisor.

 

2.      Motion to submit the 2008 – 2011 Mentoring and Induction Plan to the New Jersey Department of Education as presented.

 

Finance

 

3.      Motion to accept the June 24, 2008 check journal.

 

4.      Motion to approve budget transfers to the 2007-2008 budget as presented.

 

5.      Motion to approve award of contract to Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc. for trash removal services for July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 in the amount of $71,746.47 and for July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 in the amount of $73,898.87.Lowest responsible bid received.

 

6.      Motion to renew insurance coverage with Zurich Insurance in accordance with proposal (property, crime, equipment breakdown, general liability, auto, school board legal, umbrella, FF CAP, pollution, accident, bonds) at a premium amount of $167,923.

 

7.      Motion to approve contract with IDE Corporation to provide a Summer Institute for Long Valley Middle School staff in the amount of $11,130.

 

8.      Motion to approve contract for subscription to IDE Corporation to provide the Portal for all Long Valley Middle School Certified Staff.  Amount not to exceed $2,275.
